MODMUSIC Records, a subsidiary of THE MODMUSIC GROUP and a truly independent record label, is distributed nationally by Big Daddy Music Distribution. Among their roster of acts is NYC indie band, SCOUT, who was recently seen on HBO's "The Sopranos" and "Late Night With Conan O'Brien," and the ACOUSTIC GIRL CIRCLE, (featuring NYC singer songwriters Marilyn D'Amato, Trina Hamlin & NiNi Camps) which continues to be one of NACA's (The National Association for Campus Activites) most successful college touring acts. The label, which believes in giving back to the community, also regularly hosts charity concerts and has released a benefit compilation album for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.

In 2000, MODMUSIC launched the INDIE BAND SEARCH, a national annual competition giving independent musicians, artists, songwriters, and bands a chance to be heard by entertainment industry professionals while competing for prizes and a slot on MODMUSIC's “Indie Choice” compilation CD series. The now critically acclaimed CD series has been a launching pad for up-and-coming artists. Past finalists have included Jesse Harris, who recently won a Grammy for penning "Don't Know Why," and other songs on Norah Jones' platimun debut, Canadian artist Kathleen Edwards, who signed with Rounder after her win, Lucy Woodward, who signed to Atlantic and Angela McClusky, who's single "Breathe" with Telepopmusic went on to become a major hit after being featured on the Mitsubishi commercial series.

In an industry that is constantly in flux, MODMUSIC continues to charge on, bringing great music to music fans, with integrity and tenacity, while showing continued support and respect for the local and independent artist.
